The National Research Award:

The establishment of TRC is, without doubt, a significant step in the scientific, economic and social development of Oman. Research is essential to nation building – it underpins progress, economic growth and prosperity; it helps us better equip and train our workforce and encourages creativity and innovation; it leads to greater entrepreneurship and helps industry growth. In short, research makes our nation more competitive in the global economy. The establishment of the National Research Award (NRA) is a translation of the and partial realization of the National Research Strategy 2008-2020, which aims at building greater research capacity; achieving research excellence in fields of national importance and enabling a supportive environment for research. The award contributes to spread the competitive spirit between researchers and motivate them to research to achieve total quality and sustainable development.
Annual Researcher’s Forum:
The importance of holding this forum is to encourage scientific research and disseminate the research culture in the Sultanate, and also to encourage researchers to highlight their research activities in various fields. Since holding the forum its contribute to achieve the goal of "knowledge transfer “, one of the four pillars that stipulated by the National Strategy for Scientific Research.
In this forum we will invite the researchers who funded their research through TRC different programs such as Open Research Grants Program, Open Research Strategic Program, Open Research Grants Directed Program and research chairs. Researchers who have completed their projects or, who published scientific papers in refereed scientific journals will be asked to present oral presentation in parallel sessions. Researchers who have not completed their research projects or researchers from Students Research Support Program and other research programs will present their research activities in posters.
